A Daily Dose of Peace. Each week, I focus on Love, Joy, and Peace in the world languages. February’s first week focuses on Myanmar in Asia.

Peace Like a River in Akeu or Gaolkheel

In the Akeu or Gaolkheel language
“Neesal ovq” means peace

“Ngal jaol nail bha neesal ovq nail laoljaol il”
is translated “when peace like a river”
wanders through the mountain
nourishing the all the trees
from the native teak to the mangrove forests

“Ngal jaol nail bha neesal ovq nail laoljaol il”
flows across borders nourishing the people
of Myanmar, Burma, China
Loas and Thailand equally

“Ngal jaol nail bha neesal ovq nail laoljaol il”
runs free to nourish the Asian Elephant
and the Bengal tiger
just the same as the Burmese cats
and Clouded leopard

“Ngal jaol nail bha neesal ovq nail laoljaol il”
surges after a monsoon of hope
then we will be closer to abundance for all

When Peace Like A River

“Ngal jaol nail bha neesal ovq nail laoljaol il”
when peace like a river
flows in Gaolkheel-Akeu
spoken in Myanmar (Burma)
China Laos and Thailand

“Neesal ovq” is peace
moving from one country to the next
connecting all
what affects one place’s water
affects them all
