Action verbs stimulate the readers’ mind and create physical sensations that give a richness to an image create by the poem. Look for action words on seed packs like touched, plant, harvest, germinate, watch, grow, begin, and pick.

Our brain picks up on action verbs and sends signals to our body as if we are doing the action. When you use action verbs it is easier for the reader to image sowing seeds, tapping down the soil, or picking a flower and carrying it indoors.
