A Daily Dose of Peace. Each week, I focus on Love, Joy, and Peace in the world languages. the last week in February focuses on Italy in Europe.
Filindeus, A Little Peaceful Sardinian Spaghetti
In Sardinian spoken in Italy
“paghe” is peace or “pace” in Italian
the Sardi word “pagheddu”
means a little or “pochino” in Italian
so there is a lot of peace in a little
Peace is embedded in “spaghettini” in Italian
or “filindeus” in Sardinian
literally “threads of God”
or the English “angels hair”
hand kneaded into 256 strands
set out in the sun to dry
layered to create
a fine mesh of Sardinian pasta
Pasta like peace
formed in an incredible heritage
fragile and precious
a most engaging human process
takes high skillfulness and time
