Ways to Write Seed Pack Poetry Part 1
Seed pack poetry is a form of found poetry, erasure poetry or blackout poetry. Found poetry is a form of poetry where the words are found in a page of text. The poet uses only words found in that piece of text. Found poems can be rewritten onto a separate piece of page taking only the words needed for the poem. Often the poet keeps the words in the same order on the page, but sometimes will rearrange the words chosen for the poem.
Erasure Poetry
Erasure poetry is where the words needed for the poem are cut out of the text or the words not needed are erased from the text leaving only the desired words.
Blackout Poetry
In Blackout poetry the words not included in the poem are blacked out with a marker, crayon, or pencil.
In all of these forms of poetry the desired words are left visible, and the remaining words are left behind.
Seed pack poetry is a specific kind of found poetry, erasure poetry or blackout poetry. The chosen text is the back of a seed pack.
Seed Pack Poetry Titles
Poem titles can be ripped from the text or can be chosen from any set of words, in order to lead the reader into the poem or set the subject matter. In seed pack poetry often, the title includes the name of the flower, fruit or vegetable seeds contained in the seed pack. Perhaps the plant’s scientific name is included in the title.
